Hey loves!

You guys have been asking for a forum, so while I work on that one, you can actually use the discussion page on the RT30 Countdown with Inka facebook group!

There are a few topics up already, so feel free to populate it. I understand that it's not the same as a forum in a way that you can't pick your display name or have any sort of anonymity, but be comforted by the fact that the team will have a meeting later about how we can incorporate a forum into this site ;)

Good idea with the forums suggestion! I LOVE forums. I used to participate quite actively in a gaming forum for about 4 years. I was addicted to this online text-based strategy game...pretty kewl game, too. Oh well!

World's Biggest Band, A Death In Hollywood, and Young Lady Gaga!

Okay, yesterday didn't want me logging on so I couldn't post anything, but at least now, I'm able to give you guys more than just one bit!

Her name is Gloria Stuart and you may know her as the sweet old lady from Titanic. Well, she died last Sunday. She was 100 years old.

From a band that started out as a joke to mock the other goth bands in a competition, Muse is now a strong contender for World's Biggest Band! I mean, there's U2 and everything, but they're currently on a tour hiatus until next year and it seems like no other band can come close.

I ♥ Katy Perry. I think she's so adorable.

Here she is singing a kid-friendly version of "Hot and Cold" with Elmo. They filmed this segment for a New Year's release, but it made its way to YoutTube and parents started reacting!

So producers pulled it out of the program flow. Question is: if they can change the lyrics of the song, why couldn't they just have made her wear something else? I mean, I'm sure they designed the outfit, I'm sure they SAW her wearing it, saw her running around in it, saw how much her boobs--oh..no WONDER they didn't change her costume :p

Just to clear things up!

1. The RT30 isn't biased. Songs get in the polls once they reach a certain number of votes because the space there is limited. And the more songs there are on the poll, the harder it is to look for the song that you want. I'm quite OC so I like it when things are nice and neat, and that is the reason why some songs don't make it to the polls :) But if you want that to change for your song choice, then you MUST get more people to vote instead of doing the opposite and giving up to vote somewhere else. That REALLY won't get your song in, right? Trust me, once you get more people to vote, you'll be surprised :)

2. The bulk of the votes come from this poll, but put all the phone votes, ym votes, and twitter votes together, and it still makes quite an impact. So vote as much as you can and as often as you can :)

3. Fighting really won't get you anywhere. Bad-mouthing other fan-bases won't make their song go down the chart. Claiming something is biased won't get your song in (next time, at least :p). Only way to get it in? Just keep voting :)

4. If your song doesn't get in this week, then vote for next week and so on and so forth! :)

I'm just a spectator. All I do really is just give you what you guys ask for in the way that the votes come to me. :)

Innocence?

Hey guys!

Yes, it's been a few days since I posted...my fault! You know when Murphy's Law is at work--anything and everything can and will go wrong. No wifi, can't connect, I get disconnected, blah blah blah :p

ANYWAYS.

Yesterday? Much fun indeed. If you guys were in the 6750 area in Makati, then you should have passed by Starbucks because 99.5RT was broadcasting live over there :D It was pretty fun! I had so much fun, in fact, that I didn't mind boarding for 7 hours hahaha!

Soooo..

You guys do know about Kanye's breakdown on twitter, right? No? Well! What happened was that he was ranting in his tweets, then all of a sudden, it was almost like he had an emotional breakdown! Basically, he felt bad that harsh words like "Asshole" started being associated with his name. Type it out on google search and Kanye West will pop up. Now, Kanye West is a musician, and he makes music for people to enjoy them. Since that "I'ma let you finish.." stint with Swift, West feels like listeners can no longer fully enjoy his music because they associate his work with what he did. He feels like when people hear his songs, they don't think about the emotion or the inspiration behind it, they don't think about how this song can bring back some of their memories, or how this song can aid in imagining what their futures will be like. Instead, people think "Kanye wrote this song. God, he's such an ass for what he did to Taylor Swift."

Now, Kanye being an artist, he's distraught. Looking at it through an "artist"'s perspective, he just felt the need to express and not diss Swift. He said, "I'ma let you finish..." so his intent wasn't to disrespect her, but rather to be heard by his peers that his choice was Beyonce. Unfortunately, everyone can and did take it in the worst (and most obvious) way--he was seen as the man who slapped a little girl's ice cream cone to the ground.

He felt so bad, he wrote a song for Swift, and if she doesn't wanna sing it, then he will because the song is too beautiful to be left unsung.

His breakdown's bottomline? If you can no longer enjoy my music, then I will no longer make music.

THEN!!

During the recent MTV VMA's, Taylor Swift performed her new song "Innocent" from her new album "Speak Now". Many believe that the song was directed at Kanye West. Read up the lyrics:

Just Some RT30 Songs and How They Got In

Hey guys! Just a quick last post...I'm supposed to be resting today because I was rushed to the ER last night due to food poisoning. Anyways! Decided to let you guys in on some of the ways songs get into the chart and the polls :)

Charice feat. Iyaz - Pyramid
This song became really popular because Charice is a filipina and her first international single featured Iyaz. Pinoy Pride got Pyramid more votes than the number one song on the chart even before her song was added to the polls. She then debuted at number 1.

Colbie Caillat - I Never Told You
This song was on the playlist for a while, and once everyone noticed it already, votes started coming in through the phones, the textlines, and the yahoo messenger. Then messages were posted on the Cbox, asking for the song to be added to the polls. RT30 team did a tally and found that the song garnered enough votes through phone, text, and calls to be able to get in the charts.

These next few songs ALL got into the chart WITHOUT being added to the polls first. They got enough votes to get into the chart ON THEIR OWN.

Since I wanna make sure everyone's clear about it, too, I will post a screencap of exactly how many votes it gets by the end of the week. If it gets enough, you'll hear it next Friday on the countdown, but if it doesn't get in, then you guys will just have to do what I've been telling you to: GET MORE FANS TO VOTE. Simple as that.

So, automatically, when the song that you love doesn't get enough requests to get into the polls, I have favoritism and I'm not updated. I love you guys so much ;)

Lemme set things straight..


All the other songs are on the chart because I get votes from the phone, textline, this website, and the yahoo messenger on my shift, and the other jocks get the votes during different times of the day. So it's not that I have favoritism or that I'm not updated, Thea and Joshua. It's that you guys are the only ones actively voting for Archie. I don't care about Linkin Park and Archie fans over facebook. If those thousands of fans aren't voting here, then they aren't getting in. If Archie is on the other countdowns on other stations, then they're obviously voting THERE, but they aren't voting HERE. If you want Archie to get on the chart so much, then get MORE people to vote.

If I had favoritism, then Charice wouldn't have debuted at number 1. I don't like Charice, and I don't like Iyaz. I don't like Sara Bareilles either, but she's in the top spots :p If I had favoritism, then the chart would look soooo different lol.

Tell you what, gather all your Archie fans and come over to the station. I'd love to meet you guys, Thea and Joshua and JJ. When you get to the station, I'll show you how I gather my votes so you see that I'm in to way cheating :) Anyone who comes to the station and asks, actually. I've had some Cookistas over and some Glamberts, too. They were soooo many! You Archie fans come to the station and we'll talk ;)
